How Progression Works in 1.7.42
Cobbleverse progression is organized into four regional series: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. Each visible series follows the same shape: eight Gym Leaders in numbered order, four Elite Four members in numbered order, then one Champion. The site's regional directory and region pages preserve that order from the generated region data.
The active Trainer Card is the first place to check in game. Match the region and named checkpoint on the card to the same region page on this site. The verified 1.7.42 first-session card began in Kanto with Brock, a current cap of 25, and a 30 cap after victory.

This overview was reconciled against the exact RCT and regional datapacks installed in COBBLEVERSE 1.7.42. The older Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh screenshots already in the repository are useful visual records, but only the dated Trainer Card capture above has exact 1.7.42 in-game provenance. Current-version ordering, rosters, level caps, locator recipes, and advancement links come from the matching installed-profile files rather than from screenshot appearance alone.
Region Availability and Walkthrough Coverage
All four region routes exist. A route existing does not mean every checkpoint has an authored walkthrough.
| Region | Visible chain | Source level band | Current detail coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kanto | 8 gyms, 4 Elite Four, 1 Champion | 16–100 | All 13 records and legacy recipe/location/trainer images are present; no per-trainer authored guide.md walkthroughs yet. |
| Johto | 8 gyms, 4 Elite Four, 1 Champion | 19–100 | All 13 records and legacy recipe/location/trainer images are present; no per-trainer authored guide.md walkthroughs yet. |
| Hoenn | 8 gyms, 4 Elite Four, 1 Champion | 20–100 | All 13 visible checkpoints have authored walkthroughs. A separate hidden Lyris data record has no authored walkthrough and is not part of the visible chain. |
| Sinnoh | 8 gyms, 4 Elite Four, 1 Champion | 28–100 | All 13 visible checkpoints have authored walkthroughs. |
Kanto and Johto are therefore usable data-and-image references, not complete authored walkthroughs. Their pages can identify order, rosters, caps, biomes, and legacy recipe imagery, but they do not yet provide the same step-by-step route, loot, and troubleshooting coverage as Hoenn and Sinnoh.
Read the Checkpoint Chain
The generated nextTrainerId links produce these visible routes:
Gym order and Elite Four order each restart at one in the source, so role matters as much as the displayed number. The eighth Gym Leader points to Elite Four member one, and Elite Four member four points to the Champion.
Hoenn has two special records worth recognizing. Pat and Tell are one visible dual-trainer checkpoint: the old hoenn_pat query is an alias of the canonical hoenn_tell checkpoint, so both should not be counted as separate gyms. Lyris is marked hidden and is removed from visible grouping and previous/next navigation. The installed Hoenn advancement chain moves from Adriano directly to Fosco and contains no Lyris victory advancement, so this overview does not insert Lyris into the standard league route.
Camilla's canonical trainer ID is sinnoh_champion_camilla; the source folder spelling camila is only an authoring-image slug and does not create another public progression route.
Read Levels and Caps Correctly
The four broad level bands above are authored fields in each region JSON. The parser copies them unchanged and the region loader sorts by the minimum. They are not recalculated at runtime from the opponent roster and are not a promise that one level is safe for every fight.
Use the selected checkpoint's revealed team for the actual opponent levels. The site's Level Cap is a generated planning value: the parser takes the highest level in that checkpoint's bundled RCT roster, adds five, and caps the result at 100. It is not copied from an in-game cap field. Brock's generated site value is 25, which matches the active 25 shown on the verified Trainer Card; that card separately shows a 30 cap after victory. Follow the active cap shown in game when it differs from the site's planning value, and do not read either value as a recommended team level.
Before a fight:
Use Locator Items and Recipe Details
Gym and league structures use named locator items. Their current-profile recipes attach a target structure to the crafted output; the in-game tooltip then directs the player to insert that item into a regional cartography table. Open the correct region page, select the active trainer, and use its first recipe or locator step before following the resulting map.
Petra's exact installed 1.7.42 recipe is a useful example: two Paper, one Pink Apricorn, and three Stone Slabs craft the Rock Tome, whose bundled result targets the Petra structure.

The Hoenn and Sinnoh authored checkpoints show materials and route steps directly. Kanto and Johto currently expose legacy recipe images without authored prose, so read those pages as visual/data references and do not assume an undocumented route detail. Elite Four members normally share their region's league structure; once inside, continue through the numbered rooms rather than searching for four independent buildings.
When a step requires a documented collectible, use the linked site inventory rather than guessing an acquisition route. The Plates category covers progression-linked Sinnoh plates, while the broader Items directory and global search help resolve named materials.
Choose the Next Objective
Use this short decision loop:
nextTrainerId.The badge case is a useful confirmation for gym victories, but the Trainer Card remains the authoritative next-checkpoint display.

Do not switch to a different walkthrough merely because its source level band begins near your current party. The correct next objective is the checkpoint recorded by the active regional progression state.

hoenn_tell checkpoint. Do not add hidden Lyris to the standard Hoenn chain.Server owners can change permissions or progression settings. When a server differs from the verified 1.7.42 local profile, its published rules and administrator are authoritative.
